How I Keep the Disney Magic at Home

 (Part 2)

Puzzle featuring various Disney pins

More preventing Disney homesickness

Posted January 5, 2025

A winter storm is heading my way, and I will be needing some Disney magic to get me through the next few days. One of my favorite ways to experience some Disney at home, especially when it's cold outside, is doing puzzles that are Disney, Marvel, Pixar or Star Wars themed. I have done many over the years and they are by far my favorite. I even have a couple of Lego® Art sets one of Mickey and one of Minnie. They were super fun to build and I love seeing them hang on the wall.

While I am working on my puzzles I usually have on one of the biggest ways I get to experience Disney at home and that is of course Disney+. Being able to watch the vast array of Disney movies and shows brings me great joy. I can even watch Taylor Swift! I especially enjoy watching anything where I learn in depth information on Disney like The Imagineering Story, One Day at Disney and Behind the Attraction. On Christmas I put on the Arendelle Castle Yule Logs. Not to mention, Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar. If you have just a little bit of time there are shorts. They serve as nice little pick me ups. A favorite of mine is Dug Days. (I love anything with a dog.)

If I am not able to sit and watch something, but I still need a dose of Disney magic, I put in my earbuds and listen to it. I use Apple Music and there are loads of options. There are even audio tours by my favorite podcaster Lou Mongello. They are not quite up to date, but it is like being there, and I have learned lots of details I never knew before. My other favorite playlist are Disneyland, Walt Disney World, and Disney Instrumentals. There is even one for the holidays

The last Disney Magic at Home tip for this round is one I can take everywhere. Bags and purses. I have a particular liking of Dooney and Bourke and the Loungefly although I recently received a Vera Bradley Disney Mini Belt Bag and I adore it. I even decorate my non Disney bags with charms from the parks. My favorite is Chuuby from Mickey and Minnie’s Run Away Railway.

Although it is hard to live away from Disney’s Magic, I pretend it makes me appreciate it more. I will continue to find ways to make the best of it. If you enjoyed this and want more ideas, check out How I Keep the Disney Magic at Home (Part 1) and the Disney Magic at Home Photo Gallery.
